24 hours in Tokyo

twenty-four hours are too little to understand a city, but enough to approach it with an open gaze. after an assignment, I had one day before my return flight for a city and a culture I had previously known only from a distance. the images do not attempt to explain Tokyo. they are a quotation of what I experienced, condensed from strangeness, order, chance encounters and those moments that imprint themselves precisely because they are visible only briefly. the limited time sharpens the gaze and turns fleeting seeing into more than a personal memory.
