black sun
a series about light, body and the visual disruption of a seemingly unambiguous space. I am less interested in documenting a place than in the question of how strongly an image can create its own reality. architecture becomes not only a subject, but a carrier of a social idea whose original promise can still be read in the present condition of the place. for me, the real force of the series emerges precisely in this tension between utopia, order and lived reality.

collodion and material
the collodion process demands a different kind of attention. preparation, coating, sensitising, exposure and development follow one another in close succession. temperature, chemistry, material and timing interact directly, making every plate an individual result. the image is therefore not only a photograph, but an event and an object. it is precisely this immediate connection between photographic decision and craft process that gives the method its particular fascination for me.

neon-sixties
old signs, advertising and American visual myths become material for a new narrative. the starting point is photographic, while the final work deliberately moves between memory, construction and staging. the aged neon objects still possess an almost iconic force, while the figures enter into a physical yet distanced relationship with them. the result is an image world that recalls a fashion shoot without being one, where a past zeitgeist and contemporary staging deliberately collide.
